South Carolina, Florida
tools:
hand sketching & film
details:
I was fortunate enough to be one of thirty students who participated in the 3-week UB Headed South program during our winter break. We flew out to Texas where we began our architecture journey traveling by bus across states, ending in Florida. Thanks to a thoughtful and strategically planned trip by our professor Greg, everyday was jammed packed with amazing buildings, food and memories.
daily sketches
Requirements for this trip: mini sketchbook and your finest pens. Although architecture school was slowly transitioning into the digital world, hand sketching remains a crucial component of the design process. Every building we visited opted for an opportunity for a sketch and to improve our skills. We participated in weekly sketch charrettes where we had our opportunity to share our sketches and see all these buildings through everyone's own perspectives.

buildings, buildings and more buildings
I had never left the northeast region of our country so this trip was an amazing opportunity to see the southern region. I fell in love with the history and the culture that each destination brought. This is a trip I will cherish and it has inspired other trips I have taken. Below are some of my favorite moments.
