location:
tpg architecture office
tools:
revit, sketchup, enscape, adobe photoshop & illustrator
details:
During the course of our summer internship program, the interns were divided into two groups to participate in a mini design competition. The prompt was to design a virtual reality (VR) lab within the TPG architecture office. We worked as a team to research, strategize and design our proposal. The Husky VR lab was a huge hit and it got the ball rolling on how the office can benefit from this technology onward.
design strategy & research
TPG Architecture is a multidisciplinary office with expertise in architecture, interior design, and branding + strategy teams. An intern from each discipline were grouped together to create each design team, with myself representing the architecture side. We met during our lunch time and after work throughout the summer to develop our design proposals. Apart from bouncing ideas among ourselves, We were fortunate enough to have our mentors and other senior staff members guide us. This intern project was presented to the entire office at the end of the summer, setting momentum on how we can use virtual reality to share our designs to clients and others through this new medium.

design package
Being the architecture intern in the group, I helped bring our ideas and designs to life. Apart from working with my assigned office team, working with this group of interns was some of my initial experience working across disciplines, teaching me that everyone brings something to the table. Using modeling and drawing software like revit and autocad, I created the drawings for the presentation. When it came to further developing specific details, I worked with my mentor to ensure feasibility.
